Verify the file family and text
Open PAT and check the preview; Windows-1252 is the default encoding. Change it if text is wrong, and compare dimensions, thread codes, full crosses and straight backstitch with the source. PDF includes a chart and legend; the PAT extension alone does not identify its program or version.
Review conversion changes
- Pattern Creator PAT and PCStitch 8–11 are unsupported.
- Unsupported versions, protection, blends or specialty stitches reject the whole file.
- Check the preview and progress changes; notes/photos are not transferred, so keep the source.
